Research
Now that you’re at TAMS, it’s important for you to make the most of this endeavor. The fact that you are able to live on a university campus gives you access to a lot of opportunities. We have community events all the time, and all your professors are merely within walking distance. Use this advantage to the best of your ability. One of the best ways is to join clubs whether they be in TAMS or outside of TAMS. You will be able to expose yourself to a variety of disciplines and make new friends, along the way. You can also join a research lab; this is one of the main ways you can distinguish yourself from your high school counterparts. TAMS students are able to build time into their own schedules to go to labs, surrounded by other students who are also looking to conduct research in labs with access to an assortment of resources. So use your peers and onsite staff at TAMS to find the best place for you. As a class, we represent some of the most mature and disciplined juniors and seniors in the state, so make sure to show those traits as you look for research. I know it all seems stressful, and honestly, the first semester is probably the easiest, but it is all going to be okay! So just take a deep breath and relax. Remember, we have just been through what you are experiencing right now and we are a-okay so don’t worry too much. We are all here to help you and we will always be here to give you the resources you need. So please do not hesitate to talk to us!
